Tastes like home... there's nothing quite like putting a feel good comfort food on the table. Covers all the food groups, quick and easy to prepare and it's delicious after a long day of hunting (or any cold day).

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs ground meat
1 yellow onion, chopped
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (or use your own fresh: peas, corn, carrots, green beans)
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp thyme
2 cups beef broth
2 Tbsp flour
4 cups mashed potatoes (I use leftover homemade or Idahoan garlic and herb)
1 lb shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat
Add onion, seasonings and ground meat
Stir occasionally until meat is thoroughly cooked and onions are tender
Add beef broth and flour until sauce thickens to gravy texture
Add mixed vegetables and stir until slightly tender
In a large baking dish spread meat and vegetable mixture
Spread mashed potatoes in an even layer on top of meat mixture
Top with shredded cheddar
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned
Let cool for 10 minutes
Best served with homemade biscuits and brown gravy
